THE MENDOCINO QUEEN IS A DOWNEAST 38 CUTTER BUILT IN SANTA ANA
CALIFORNIA AND APPROVED BY THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD TO CARRY
PASSENGERS FOR HIRE.
From 1987 to 1993 while based in San Francisco, we actively chartered the yacht along the
Northern California coast with many trips to the Farallone Islands. This was generally heavy
weather sailing; often with the sails reefed and decks awash. Fast and fun but cold and wet.
The boat was solid and stood up to this use day after day.
